Grace College Welcomes Transfer Students with New Initiatives

Grace College is pleased to announce two new initiatives to make bachelor degree programs more accessible to Indiana students, in particular transfer students from Ivy Tech. Grace now accepts the Statewide Transfer General Education Core (STGEC), allowing a seamless transfer of 30 general education credits from any public state university. Grace College also guarantees tuition assistance to Ivy Tech transfer students.

“We are excited to make the transfer process easier for Indiana students who want to pursue an excellent Christian education,” said Dr. Mark Pohl, dean of admissions at Grace College.  “These programs are part of Grace’s commitment to accessible and affordable college education.”

Pohl explains, “STGEC is a group of core credits focused on general education competencies which transfer between Indiana public universities and participating private colleges and universities. Students who complete STGEC classes at any Indiana university can now transfer those to Grace College, guaranteed.”

In addition, any Ivy Tech student who has a zero Estimated Family Contribution on the FAFSA will now have traditional undergraduate tuition fully covered by federal, state, and Grace financial aid. Other Ivy Tech students will receive at least $10,000 in financial aid from Grace College for traditional undergraduate programs.

“In order to receive financial aid, all the student must do is complete the FAFSA by the Indiana deadline and be an Indiana resident,” said Pohl.

These initiatives are part of the robust financial aid program at Grace College. Ninety-nine percent of Grace students receive some institutional financial aid.  Through Measure of Grace, the college’s comprehensive affordability program, tuition never increases after the first year of enrollment and students can earn a bachelor’s degree in more than 70 majors in a three-year accelerated degree format.
